    Description

    Your Opportunity:

    As a team member of the Department of Clinical Engineering, the Biomedical Technologist II is responsible for the management of technology and support of clinically applied devices in general. The technologist requires a comprehensive knowledge of clinical practices, procedures and types of equipment, and must be well versed in details of anatomy and physiology. The technologist, working independently or as part of the clinical team is responsible for customer support, performance assurance testing, maintenance and repair of complex medical, biomedical, and electronic devices or systems. These responsibilities must all be completed according to CSA, manufacturers, department, and accreditation standards. Responsibilities also include prioritization, scheduling, managing of assigned workload, and other related duties as required. Biomedical Technicians are also expected to be available on call or after hours as per operational needs.

    Description:

    As a Biomedical Equipment Technologist (BMET) II, you will provide assurance testing, maintenance and repair of complex medical, biomedical and electronic devices or systems.

    Required Qualifications:

    Completion of a two year diploma in Biomedical Engineering Technology from an accredited Institute of Technology. Active or eligible for registration as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) with The Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET).

    Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience in critical care settings as well as microscopes, lasers, heart lung machines and anesthesia gas machines.
