As the _
Human Resource Manager, _
you will:

The Human Resource Manager will plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of human resources, develop and implement policies, programs and procedures regarding human resource planning, recruitment, collective bargaining, training and development, occupation classification and pay and benefit administration.

The Human Resource Manager will represent management and participate actively on various joint committees to maintain ongoing relations between management and employees or unions.


Your education and qualifications include:


  • Degree in Business preferably with a major in HR; or approved equivalent
  • CPHR Designation
  • 7 years Experience as a Human Resource Generalist in a unionized environment which includes: employee/labour relations, leading complex investigations, performance management, administrating and/or supporting the payroll and benefits function, full cycle recruitment and selection. Should also include experience with HRIS software.
  • Experience in healthcare related field is preferred
  • Experience leading the grievance process and preparation for mediation/arbitration is required.
  • Experience developing, implementing and training others in HR related systems and programs for use throughout the organization.
  • 5 years Progressive management/supervisory experience, preferably in a client service focused role which includes: developing, coaching, motivating and mentoring others. It is required to have experience building and sustaining effective working relationships in a diplomatic fashion.
  • Experience in managing change/projects that impact operations and/or organizational design
  • Experience using MS Office to create formal letters, documentation, reports and templates for the use of the HR Department. Ability to use formulas and macros would be preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of related legislation, regulations and best practices in Human Resources and operational management.
  • Strong researching, decisionmaking, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Organization, prioritization and time management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and in unexpected situations
  • Ability to maintain attention to details while contemplating broad scale implications
