Description

The Engineering Documentation Control Specialist is responsible for the quality, the structure, the format, and the completeness of technical engineering documentation required for the manufacturing of high-speed optical transceivers, within our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) database.

Following AS9100 standard requirements in regards of technical documentation of engineering including bill of materials (BOM), procedures, travellers, test plan, test report, qualification report, etc.


  • Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure consistency of engineering documentation, its completeness and its quality, and the adherence to a format, from all teams and departments, comply with AS9100 standard
  • Ensure consistency and quality information between the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) databases
  • Design and implement standard templates to facilitate the documentation process and minimize errors and missing of information
  • Review Engineering Change Orders (ECO) in database for consistency of database requirements
  • Support the timely processing of Engineering Change Orders (ECO)
  • Support managing configuration in PLM technical database
  • Support product engineering team with their activates directed by Product Engineering Lead
  • Perform other duties as required to support engineering project activities

  • The Individual

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a hightech hardware manufacturing company
  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred
  • Experience with PLM software is an asset
  • Experience with ERP software is an asset
  • Demonstrated interest to ensure the quality of data entry and the accuracy of databases
  • Comfortable in working in a challenging environment with several concurrent projects
  • Action oriented with a desire to resolve problems quickly
