JOB SUMMARY
Provides production assistance by controlling production and inventory data and accounting fissile materials to ensure compliance with the requirements of the CNSC and IAEA


DUTIES

  • Responsible for the inventory control of fissile materials, reporting and compiling equivalency inventory to ensure accurate reporting to regulatory agencies; inspects, finds and researches the cause of and reconciles discrepancies in reports. May prepare all fuel shipments to be sent to Waste Management for disposal.
  • Assists the production department with the tracking of inprocess fuel production including fuel and waste and coordination of transfers, analysis and inspection of materials by completing the appropriate forms and reports to ensure a smooth work flow of the department.
  • Verifies, records, processes and tracks requests for procurement of supplies required for production to ensure the availability of materials.
  • Acts as the primary contact for Nuclear Fuel Accounting System inquiries and either answers the query or passes it on to the appropriate person.
  • Provides the IAEA and CNSC with detailed data of all movements of fissile material that are made within the facility during their routine inspections of the facility for safeguards purposes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Postsecondary education in Office Administration or equivalent from a college of recognized standing, plus 34 years related experience or equivalent in education and experience.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft office software such as Excel and Word.
  • Some working knowledge of Access, TRAK, INMAS, NFAS or must be willing and capable of developing this knowledge quickly on the job.
  • Must possess a sense of responsibility and the ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Must possess exceptional organization skills, be dependable and efficient, and able to handle and endure stressful situations.
  • Must be eligible for Radiation Protection training as a Group 3 employee.
