ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Foremost has an immediate opening for a Design Engineer or Design Technologist, located at our facility in Calgary, Alberta. As a member of the engineering department you will have an opportunity to be a part of a team to take on challenging design projects for vehicles or drilling rigs destined for some of the harshest operating conditions on earth. The exposure to a variety of sophisticated mechanical, fluid power, electrical and hydraulic control systems is unsurpassed.

Accountabilities:

∙ Work on putting together conceptual layouts for both custom and incremental designs

∙ Design of structural components

∙ Performance calculations and stress analysis

∙ Detailed engineering documentation and production documentation

∙ Design of hydraulic and electric systems

∙ Design of control systems – manual, pilot operated, and electronic

∙ Technical production support

∙ Field service and parts support

∙ Trouble shooting and commissioning of new equipment

∙ Liaise with the sales department to develop proposals and offer customer support

∙ Other duties within the scope of the position, as assigned

Qualifications:

∙ Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or Graduate of an accredited university program

∙ Must be eligible to practice under APEGA

∙ A Design Engineering Technologist with 3-5 years' experience would also be considered

∙ Creo (ProE)/Solid Works and AutoCAD experience is required

∙ Experience with ProEngineer or Inventor software is an asset but not required

∙ 5 – 10 years of experience working as a Professional Engineer and performing detailed mechanical and structural design for manufacturing

∙ Knowledge of hydraulics is considered an asset

∙ Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
