    We have embarked on an exciting journey of modernizing and transforming our Canada and US payroll functions, engaging a third-party consulting firm to uncover opportunities and develop a detailed roadmap. By rethinking structures, harmonizing processes, and automating key tasks with new technologies, we intend to create a simpler and more efficient operating model encouraging collaboration and flexibility for the payroll function to meet the evolving and growing needs of BCG.

    We are seeking a Payroll Manager to lead all aspects of the Canada payroll cycle, focusing on process improvement and maintaining compliance, accuracy, and timeliness. This role involves hands-on processing and partnering with our North America Payroll leadership team to support strategic initiatives.

    YOU'RE GOOD AT


  • Oversee the processing of recurring payrolls to ensure payrolls are processed timely and in accordance with BCG policy and Canadian tax laws.
  • Ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and company deductions
  • Ensure compliance with provincial, state, federal and local payroll laws and best practices. Prepare and submit various payroll-related documents, including tax reports and voluntary deduction reports.
  • Work alongside the Payroll Senior Manager on special projects targeted at transforming and modernizing the US and Canada payroll functions
  • Coach, guide, and mentor the team members to help them grow and develop the critical skills needed to succeed
  • Initiate and promote process improvements to align with business goals and best practices. Establish the best way to do things in order to ensure success as a team, and quality control.
  • Maintain and drive improvements to written department policies and procedures
  • Manage day to day escalations and act as business partner to resolve issues requiring additional assistance for resolution
  • Creating a close partnership with colleagues across the North America region and in other areas of the organization to ensure alignment of policies and procedures
  • Address and resolve any payroll-related queries or issues from employees in a timely and effective manner
  • Conduct regular payroll audits and reconcile payroll data for accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task while staying ahead of deadlines

  • YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)


  • 8+ years of experience in payroll processing and management, preferably in a similar industry
  • Expertise in Ceridian and ADP platforms is highly preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll functions, including preparation, balancing, internal controls, and payroll taxes. Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving, planning, and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent planning, organizing, multitasking and time management skills

    Members of our finance team are responsible for preserving the intellectual capital, assets, and integrity of BCG. We make a decisive impact on the firm's direction, performance, and risk-management models. Finance jobs include accounting and reporting, planning and analysis, tax and treasury, financial systems, payroll, and executive compensation.

    The payroll team processes payroll for approximately 10,000 employees in the US and Canada. Our team of 15-20 payroll members are located across Boston, Atlanta, and Toronto.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION


    Format Information:

    This role currently requires 3 days a week in office presence. This provides flexibility the remaining 40% of the work week. This hybrid work plan allows for critically important learning, collaboration, and networking with our colleagues. Specific days in the office are agreed upon by the team.
