Description
Bennet Waugh Corne is situated in newly renovated space in the downtown/exchange district of Winnipeg at Main and Bannatyne. We offer a friendly, supportive work environment and are looking for a team player to join our firm.Duties include:
- Efficient and accurate transcription of dictated agreements, correspondence, and court documents
- Preparing, and editing correspondence and legal documents in accordance with instructions
- Communicating with clients, lawyers and court staff
- General assistant duties including filing, organizing files, scheduling appointments
- Scheduling, and diarizing court dates, diarizing filing dates, and assisting with/monitoring filing compliance
- Posting data and preparing statements of account
- Providing support on real estate files
- Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Certificate from a recognized Legal Administrative Assistant program
- Minimum 2 years experience, as family law legal assistant
- Typing speed minimum of 55 wpm with accuracy
- Friendly personality and positive attitude
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to multi task and work productively
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organization
- Ability to follow instructions
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Willingness to work as part of a team to achieve firm goals
- Strong client service skills, including patience, and professionalism
- Experience with PCLaw software an asset
- Experience with real estate purchases or sale files an asset, but not required
Benefits and remuneration - competitive salary commensurate with experience, RRSP employee contribution plan, and solid benefits. Salary identified based upon approximate 3 years experience, and demonstrated skills.
