    Nature of Work:

For Indigenous communities to achieve greater economic growth, it is critical to analyze the role Indigenous law plays in advancing Indigenous economic development. Because there is relatively little academic research related to this topic, the proposed research will make a critical contribution by using a multi-method qualitative design to explore: a) how Indigenous legal orders are critical to long-term prosperity in Indigenous economic development processes; b) how Indigenous organizations can benefit from access to models of economic development initiatives carried out in the context of the realities of Indigenous communities and their own laws. The RA will conduct the literature review that engages with the complexity of Indigenous law as it relates to decolonization more broadly, and Indigenous economic development more specifically.

    Minimum Qualifications:

A 2Llaw student with a proven track record of well-developed research skills or a suitable equivalent.

All University of Ottawa employees are required under provincial law to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training offered by the University. The list of training requirements may be modified by provincial law.
