ABOUT THE JOB:


Within Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking, the Global Markets Division brings together the Research, Investment and Risk Management Solutions, Execution and Clearing, Prime Services, Equities, Fixed Income, Futures and Currencies & Commodities structuring capabilities with the objective of providing investors with one integrated multi-asset market solutions team.

Global Markets is a leading player in derivatives, with unrivaled over the counter and listed derivatives expertise, as well as cross-asset and economic research.

Our prime services' offering is a unique combination of execution, clearing, custody and financing services.

The Global Markets Division provides investment and risk hedging solutions to its corporate and institutional clients. The person will join the R&D group and will be based in Montreal. This group is in charge of developing, implementing and maintaining analytics, pricing and risk-management tools for SG.

Reporting directly to the local Head of R&D, the person will be working as a project manager and will be involved in operational organization of the business lines ARD is working for in AMER.


The Project Management and COO is key in the proper functioning of the Desks that are supported by the Research & Development team.

The job is performed in cooperation with other COO teams within both MARK and DCS (Distribution & Credit Solutions) division.


What will be your DAY-TO-DAY?

  • Contribute to the operational organization of the business lines that are supported by ARD.
  • Develop the strategic planning for the structure, analyse and control resources needed by the ARD team and by the business lines supported when necessary.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement ARD strategy that align with the business lines overall goals.
  • Ensure efficient and effective operations within ARD while working for the JV between MARK and DCS including budget management, and workflow optimization.
  • Manage the team projects ensuring the availability of necessary resources and skills to achieve predefined business goals.
  • Ensure that all activities comply with regulatory standards and internal policies. Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with new products launch and new business initiatives.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the team and for DCS (JV) to measure the effectiveness of business initiatives.

  • Organization skills and communication skills
  • Skilled in one programming language such as Python
  • Proficient in Excel and project organization tools

Competencies & Qualifications:


  • Ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels including senior management
  • Good Project management skills
  • Selfmotivated with the ability to work within a team or alone as necessary
  • Comfortable with organizational complexity, high pressure environments and rapid change
  • Strong analytical and decisionmaking abilities, reactive and adaptive

Experience Needed:


  • 1 to 2 years of experience in similar role
  • Experience in banking and trading environment preferably worked in managing projects and their organization for either origination, engineering, syndication, sales or trading.

Education:


  • Bachelor's / master's degree in business administration, Finance, Computer Science or related field.

LANGUAGE:


Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
