    ERM is seeking a motivated Managing Consultant, Air Quality Scientist to join our consulting team in Vancouver, BC , Calgary, AB, or Toronto, ON . ERM is open to candidates in other locations in Canada. The successful candidate will lead a team of atmospheric scientists/engineers and work on a variety of interesting technical projects for clients in the oil & gas, energy, and mining sectors throughout Canada, with increasing responsibility for task/project management duties.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and lead a team of air quality scientists/engineers.
  • Conduct air quality dispersion modelling using CALPUFF and AERMOD.
  • Conduct air quality analyses, assess regulatory compliance, and perform regulatory applicability evaluations.
  • Conduct meteorology and air quality field work including installation of meteorological and air quality instrumentation.
  • Develop complete and accurate air quality permits in Alberta and BC.
  • Review compliance. Interact with local regulators to steward permit application review and issuance.
  • Prepare emission inventory and NPRI reports; quantify air pollutant emissions and impacts.
  • Implement climate change projects, such as greenhouse gas inventories, emission reductions, energy efficiency, public disclosure and verification.
  • Write air quality management and monitoring plans.
  • Prepare recommendations and reporting of results.
  • Perform multiple tasks within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
  • Interact and maintain successful relationships with clients, ERM employees, and subcontractors.
  • REQUIREMENTS:

  • BSc in environmental engineering, atmospheric science or related degree; MS and/or PE preferred.
  • 10 + years of direct consulting or industry experience.
  • Experience leading air dispersion modeling programs in CALPUFF and AERMOD.
  • Experience working on Environmental Assessments.
  • Demonstrated understanding of air emissions and emission reporting processes.
  • Strong hands-on spreadsheet and database comprehension.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
