SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team.

The Gas Supply Administrator performs various duties associated with the daily nomination and monthly allocation of gas flows to support gas purchase and sale transactions within Gas Supply.

The Gas Supply Administrator is also responsible for capturing and maintaining gas purchase transaction and contract information in the gas transaction management system.

This job works in an environment with strict deadlines, accuracy criticality and requires superior organization skills.

  • Core Responsibilities


  • Nominations

  • Gather and interpret all commercially sensitive buy and sell transaction information to determine accurate nominations, such as quantity, counterparty, location, and start/end dates on multiple pipelines to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ensure nominations balance between the various pipelines and the gas management system.
  • Prepare, issue, verify and confirm nominations to customers, suppliers, transporters, and storage operators daily with critical accuracy.
  • Monitor pipeline and storage account balances and initiate action to maintain accounts within predefined tolerances and parameters.
  • Identify and resolve account discrepancies with both internal and external customers.
  • Communicate daily operational capacities to gas marketing staff to assist in the optimization of assets.
  • Transaction Capture and Processing
  • Gather gas purchase/sale transaction information and input into the gas management system.
  • Perform reconciliations daily to ensure the accuracy of gas transaction information in the gas management system.
  • Update and maintain the gas management system with the most current company and contract information.
  • Prepare and verify transaction confirmations for issuance to external parties.
  • Implement and test upgrades and enhancements to the gas management system.
  • Develop accurate procedures for transaction capture and maintain related reports.
  • Monthly Allocations
  • Gather the required information from transporters, storage operators and common stream operators and allocate reported quantities of gas purchased and sold under all transactions on both the delivery and receipt side.
  • Calculate special charges and process required adjustments to customer accounts.
  • Calculate amount of gas to be allocated between firm and interruptible transactions to ensure accurate invoicing.
  • Initiate investigations and analysis to resolve allocation imbalances.
  • Customer Services
  • Update operational files daily and prepare required reports for both internal use as well as to distribute to gas retailers and customers.
  • Respond to inquiries from suppliers, customers and transporters regarding nominations, contracts, and allocations.
  • Communicate with customers for the resolution of customer account issues.
  • Provide communication, support, and guidance to oncall staff regarding operational issues, outstanding activities or followup activities that may be required.
  • Investigate delinquent gas sales accounts and contact customers as required.
  • Qualifications
  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Admin 285 or equivalent, Level 100 Computer Science or equivalent, and Level 100 Economics or equivalent.
  • One (1) year experience in gas transaction management including information capture, nominations, and allocations.
  • Additional Information
  • This job is routinely scheduled for weekend standby.
  • Travel, including overnight stays away from bid headquarters is required.
