Summary:


Under the direction of the Specialty Services Manager, the Field Services Supervisor (Leak Repair) is responsible for supporting operations within an assigned region, and is accountable for the effective planning, organizing, directing, controlling, production, and evaluating all leak repair operations of the Mechanical Services Division of the Fort McKay Group of Companies.

The incumbent is to conduct all activities in a manner that supports the missions, vision, and values of the Fort McKay Group of Companies LP.

This is a safety-sensitive position that requires completion of pre-employment/pre-access testing.


Key Focus:


  • Provide clear expectations to the Service Line, to ensure the delivery of support and services to the client operations.
  • Perform leak repair operations that may include; pipe freezing, composite wrapping, pipe crimping, drill/tap, wire and band, clamp and enclosure.
  • Perform work on live active leaks in difficult environments, which may include at heights or in tight spaces. Assists in documenting all field service activities.
  • Ability to perform high levels of leak repair operations, experienced with measuring all components of piping systems.
  • Assess leaking component(s) and report findings to the Specialty Service Manager.
  • Work in collaborations with the HSE Manager to ensure adherence to Fort McKay Group of Companies Safety programs and policies, as well as the Safety policies of our clients.
  • Organize and lead efforts to investigate, identify, and implement solutions related to process issues, customer quality issues, process improvements, productivity issues, and any other variances within the scope of work or position.
  • Maintains strong relationships with the client, contractors, suppliers, to ensure the client needs are met and to secure future business opportunities.
  • Mentors, guides, and coaches' other specialists/technicians to ensure adherence to established processes, provide support and assistance to direct reports as required.
  • Review and monitor daily/weekly operations documentation and reports, to ensure that company, client, and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Analyze and improve organizational process and workflow, employee and space requirements, and equipment layout; implement changes
  • Forecast requirements; prepare an annual budget; schedule expenditures; analyze variances; initiating corrective actions
  • Assist HSE with all matters pertaining to Safety, as well as Human Resources with all matters related to conducting interviews, discipline, hiring, termination.
  • Participate in Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRA) as part of the daily operations, make recommendations and adjustments as needed.
  • Work with ABSA (Alberta Boilers Safety Association) and submit documentation for CRN (Canadian Registration Numbers).
  • Perform any related and/or additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills Required:


  • Completion of a High School Diploma, or a GED equivalent is required. Postsecondary diploma, PMP, or a trade background in leak sealing is considered an asset.
  • A valid Class 5 License (or equivalent) is required, along with a satisfactory 3year Drivers Abstract.
  • CSTS and OSSA or CSO or BSO is required.
  • Knowledge in MS Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
  • Experience in SAP is considered an asset.
  • At least 1015 years of experience in the Oil/Gas industry in a similar role with troubleshooting and maintenance experience within large and dynamic operations is required.
  • Must have experience in all aspects of leak sealing and leak repair systems and processes.
  • Experience working with SABA (Supplied Air Breathing Apparatus) or SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) is required.
  • Tasks properly completed impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency or profitability of operations. Consequences of error(s) are easily measured and can be located.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including good oral, written communication, and listening skills.
  • Ability to work independently and multitask, as well as in a team environment. Able to relate to all types of people.
  • Focus oriented, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Promote and assist in the effective implementation of FMGOC Safety programs and processes.
