Major Responsibilities:


  • Conducts research and analysis on data related to citywide Parks, Forestry and Recreation assets and amenities.
  • Collects, maintains and analyzes data, including geospatial and tabular data.
  • Conducts and coordinates field studies, surveys and audits as appropriate.
  • Researches and analyzes operating procedures and makes recommendations to improve productivity through the acquisition of new equipment or software, or modification to existing equipment or business processes.
  • Compiles, analyzes and correlates data and prepares reports and studies for submission to management and/or council on program related matters.
  • Tracks data project progress and assists in work plan development.
  • Assists with administrative support and operational duties for the Division.
  • Assists in preparation of budget information.
  • Develops and maintains statistical reports and other appropriate records, records management for the Division.
  • Prepares reports and provides assistance to city and outside agencies and committees.
  • Develops, designs and delivers presentations.
  • Provides assistance and answers inquiries to/from various stakeholders.
  • May search disposal bins for contaminated material.

Key Qualifications:


  • Postsecondary education in a discipline pertinent to the job function, combined with relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Considerable Experience conducting research, including data identification, collection, documentation and analysis.
  • Experience in developing and delivering clear communications material as reports, memos, minutes, correspondence and presentations.
  • Experience conducting stakeholder consultations

You must also have:


  • Demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to take initiative in order to problem solve.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, access and summarize quantitative and qualitative information.
  • Ability to understand complex data systems, and perform analysis and interpretation on them.
  • Ability to function or operate as a member of an interdisciplinary team and represent the division in a variety of situations.
  • Welldeveloped organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously to meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to support the Toronto Public Service values to ensure a culture that champions equity, diversity, and respectful workplaces.

Asset:


  • Working knowledge of Fulcrum, and data architecture principles
  • Ability to use geospatial software (i.e. ArcGIS, Portal)
  • Ability to use data visualization software (i.e. Tableau)
  • Ability to use asset management systems
