In a team-based environment, reporting to the Director, Human Resources and working closely with the Human Resources (HR) Specialists in the division, you will assist with various aspects of human resource administration for the NWT Power Corporation (NTPC), including providing assistance and support in the functions of recruitment and other special projects.


Responsibilities:

Assists Human Resources with staffing for all NTPC vacancies.

Involves drafting job advertisements, coordination of advertising (electronically, job boards, newspapers, etc), liaising with staffing agencies, and providing assistance to managers on all aspects of the staffing to ensure fairness and consistency in the selection process and compliance with staffing standards and policies.

May participate as a member of the hiring committee for entry level positions.

Administers relocation including travel arrangements, obtaining quotes and authorizing the transportation of household goods, reimbursement of travel expenses, authorizing expense invoices and tracking of relocation expenses.

Assists in the preparation and coordination of various HR activities, such as long service awards and events, the NTPC bursary program, as well as, summer student and / or co-up student recruitment.

Assists with filing, including maintaining employee personnel files and electronic filing requirements.

In conjunction with Human Resources, administers employee medical travel by ensuring all "Certifications for Medical Travel" are submitted to Human Resources for approval, verification of required documents, arranging all travel and accommodation and review/approval of medical travel expense claims.

Coordinates and tracks Corporate apartments for new hires, medical and duty travel use. Arranges cleaning, quarterly checks, and key drop-off/pick-up for apartments located in Hay River. Prepares the units as required, prior to new hire arrival.


Qualifications:

A diploma in office or business administration, combined with three (3) years of office administration experience. Equivalencies maybe considered.
Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
Experience working with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and electronic filing systems would be an asset.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate staffing activities, obtain the cooperation of managers in the staffing process, and to maintain effective working relationships while administering services and resolving problems.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Administrative and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and assignments and to maintain a variety of files, documentation and reports.

Successful criminal records check.

Salary for this position ranges from $40.57/hr.$49.32/hr.
