Your Opportunity:


As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team.

You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development.

You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will be expected to work as a clinical practitioner and maintain clinical ICU skills.

ICU clinical bedside mentorship with a focus on staff retention and skill development will be a focus in supporting the ICU.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree. Minimum 5 years in current Critical Care nursing required. CNA certification in Critical Care required. Expert knowledge of unit based Advanced Competencies is required. Recent extensive experience in Cardiac/Intensive Care is required. Demonstrated Advanced Leadership and Communication skills, including the ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships. Competence in relevant technical nursing skills and a willingness to learn new skills as required. Demonstrated ongoing responsibility for maintaining own continuing competence through professional development activities. Excellent computer skills. Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.


Preferred Qualifications:

Master's education.
