Position Overview

The Assistant Buyer is responsible to place orders, control and manage equipment repairs for the different services of the hospital.

The assistant buyer is also responsible for customer service, to follow-up on back orders and invoice discrepancies, as well as for the data entry of the goods under contracts (eg Health Pro) and to purchase the products in stock in consideration of the supply chain in Ontario management principles.

Education

  • Postsecondary diploma/certificate in supply chain management or other related field
  • Supply Chain Management Professional training of the SCMA.
Abilities / Competencies

  • 2 years of relevant experience in material management
  • Possess a working knowledge of both official languages (English and French)
  • Ability to work as a team and to communicate effectively with the users and suppliers;
  • Ability to prioritize his(her) workload and to work under pressure (time management);
  • Problem solving skills and capacity to analyse;
  • Initiative;
  • Knowledge of all hospital policies and technical instructions pertaining to procurement;
  • Knowledge of appropriate software (Excel, search engines, Virtuo);
  • Knowledge of the Ontario guidelines pertaining to the supply chain management;

As a pre-condition of employment:


All new HGH employees will be required to obtain and provide a satisfactory Police Records Check dated within six (6) months from the date of issue.

As of now, HGH will require all employees, physicians, learners, contractors and volunteers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
