Spring Position

The purpose of this spring position is to provide the student with a valuable learning experience and the tools to help progress in their program through a work term with EllisDon.

The summer work term would be from the beginning of May to the end of August or December depending if you are available for a 4 month or 8 month work term working on various projects in the Vancouver area in construction.


You as a Health, Safety & Environmental Co-op Student:

  • Help organize safety orientation, job site inspections and accident/injury reports
  • Monitor employees and subcontractors on site to ensure compliance to safety procedures and escalate issues to resolution
  • Proactively identify and prevent hazardous situations and take necessary measures to correct them
  • Organize training programs including but not limited to: WHMIS, Fall Protection, Personal Protection Equipment, CPR/First Aid
  • Create, maintain, and educate all site staff on maintaining a safety first culture

Is this the right role for you?

  • Currently enrolled in an Occupational Health & Safety Program or similar field
  • Level 1 or 2 First Aid is an asset
  • You have the ability to delegate and influence others to follow safety rules and regulations
