Spring Position

The purpose of this spring position is to provide the student with a valuable learning experience and the tools to help progress in their program through a work term with EllisDon.

The summer work term would be from the beginning of May to the end of August or December depending if you are available for a 4 month or 8 month work term working on various projects in the Vancouver area in construction.

You as a Health, Safety & Environmental Co-op Student:

Help organize safety orientation, job site inspections and accident/injury reports
Monitor employees and subcontractors on site to ensure compliance to safety procedures and escalate issues to resolution
Proactively identify and prevent hazardous situations and take necessary measures to correct them
Organize training programs including but not limited to: WHMIS, Fall Protection, Personal Protection Equipment, CPR/First Aid
Create, maintain, and educate all site staff on maintaining a safety first culture

Is this the right role for you?

Currently enrolled in an Occupational Health & Safety Program or similar field
Level 1 or 2 First Aid is an asset
You have the ability to delegate and influence others to follow safety rules and regulations
