THE ROLE:


The Bartender is generally responsible for creating memorable guest experiences while performing all duties to maximize guest satisfaction and a quality work environment.

It is also the responsibility of the Bartender to efficiently handle any function of the restaurant from greeting the guests, to serving food and beverage items, making reservations, answering the telephones, in accordance with hotel policies and procedures.


ACTIVITIES:

The duties and responsibilities for the Bartender include, but are not limited to the following:

  • To provide friendly and efficient food and beverage service.
  • Serves menu items to guests in a prompt and courteous manner, according to established service standards.
  • Take reservations by telephone, greeting guests, systematically writing down food and drink orders, as well as serving in an orderly manner.
  • To control all liquor per company standards (pouring, restaurant, room service, par stocks, and requisitions).
  • To prepare drinks with proper recipes, glassware and garnish.
  • Ensure station is stocked for shift, maintain work areas in a clean and safe condition at all times.
  • Adhere to all cleaning and side duty schedules, ensuring all duties are completed as assigned.
  • Knowledge of all menus and promote food and beverage items to guests.
  • Handle cash and credit transactions as per company standard.
  • To arrive at table within 3 minutes from the guest is seated and greet in a friendly manner, informing the guest of your name and daily features.
  • To open/close the bar according to standard (cleanliness, properly stocked, organized).

COMPETENCIES WE ARE SEEKING:


  • Strong interpersonal and public relations skills are required for this position
  • Relevant training certificate as per province of employment
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs and stand for an 8 hour shift
  • High school diploma / GED required
  • 2+ years experience working as a bartender an asset
  • Must be able to work under heavy pressure/stress during busy times.
  • Must be able to work independently and maintain a positive attitude within a very busy environment ~ hours will fluctuate and evening, weekend and holiday work is required
