Position Description

Scope


As a Food and Beverage Supervisor you are responsible for the operation of our Suite Start Breakfast, Welcome Home Reception, and Corporate Functions/Banquets.

Your objective is to provide greater levels of service through the execution of high quality food, tremendous service, supervision, leadership and management of Food and Beverage operations.


Major Responsibilities
Responsible for all areas of the food and beverage operation in accordance with Homewood Suites standards

Manage the activities of food and beverage staff, ensure proper coverage, communicate properties goals, and assign/prioritize work. Communicate and enforce policies and procedures with all staff.


Ensure all staff are properly trained on quality and service standards and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their job functions.

Maintain and promote Health and Safety within the department.


Strategic Planning


Monitor food costs and departmental profitability against goals and provide input into the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget.

Ensure that all food and beverage equipment are in proper operational condition and are cleaned on a regular basis.

Ensure that all food and beverage facilities including banquet rooms are cleaned, vacuumed and properly stocked according to anticipated business volumes and Homewood Suites standards.

Conduct inventory according to established procedures and timeframes assigned. Assist with determining minimum and maximum stocks for all food, beverage, material and equipment.


Guest Service
Supports hotel's standards and contributes to the delivery of consistent guest service.

Solicits guest feedback and alerts General Manager to all opportunities for improvement.

Ensures that members of the Food and Beverage team demonstrate responsiveness to guest's special requests.

Assists the General Manager in resolving guest service concerns.


Human Resources
Responsible for the hiring, orientation, training, appraisal and discipline of food and beverage staff following hotel policies and procedures.


Life Safety/Loss Prevention


Demonstrates understanding of the procedures of the Hotel's Emergency Response Plan and ensures all Food and Beverage staff are trained.

Observes and ensures compliance by Food and Beverage staff with the hotel's key control procedures.


Communications
Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.

Ensures staff are kept informed of all current hotel/brand promotions.

Ensures all assigned reports are accurate and on time.


Salary:
$37,500.00-$40,000.00 per year
