Kratos Antenna Solutions is seeking a highly motivated Planner for our Whitby, Ontario location.

Under the VP of Operations, the Planner is responsible for the development and design of applicable, realistic plans to efficiently complete KAS Signal projects.

The Planner reviews FIWP- field installation work package and work plans from multiple contractors and proactively identifying potential conflicts or integration issues and resolving them.


Essential Job Function

  • Run Status Reports
  • Analyze adequate levels of materials to meet project needs.
  • Participate on Cross-Functional Teams to ensure ongoing improvements of process methodology.
  • Process inventory adjustments according to procedures.
  • Determine the focus of the project or program.
  • Develop a strategic plan to ensure plan and project goals are met within the set guideline and budget.


  • Develop (FIWP)

  • A field installation work package template for workflow and budget needs.
  • Prepare required project FIWP, which includes determining required activities, resources, special conditions, quality control, risk planning, and interdependencies.
  • Review FIWP for completeness and accuracy.
  • Coordinate activities with field supervision, resource coordinators, project controls, quality assurance other planners, and operations personnel.
  • Know, understand and communicate the safety regulations (Occupational Health and Safety Act) and project specific safety policies and procedures, and identify and mitigate specific risks.
  • Analyze and interpret financial data for budgeting and forecasting.
  • Support for scheduling of projects to ensuring the best timing.
  • Understand, and develop the release and scheduling of work and materials utilizing the existing MRP system.
  • Formulate a forward plan of requirements based on historical information and future customer forecasts.

Experience and Skills:


  • Certified in Production Inventory Management (CPIM) is an asset.
  • 3 Years' experience in planning
  • Detailed knowledge of SAP or Epicor processes applicable to planning and procurement
  • Detailed knowledge of current MS Office
  • Strong knowledge of (FIWP) field installation work package
  • Experience and knowledge in dealing with accounting systems, budgets, internal controls, business planning, and asset management.
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
  • Ability to respond appropriately in pressure situations with a calm and steady demeanour.
  • A welldefined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments, key business partners, and government agencies.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.
  • Knowledge of best practices in internal controls

Work Conditions

  • Work requires manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Heavy visual and mental concentration and periods of prolonged sitting are required.
  • Occasionally conducts site visits requiring prolonged standing or walking, negotiation of obstacles, and bending or stooping.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Overtime as required. Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
