Purpose_**Reporting to the Senior Manager, Reporting & Governance, Records & Information Management (RIM), the Records Manager supports the delivery of RIM practices across the Bank.

The Manager is responsible for regulating and monitoring the Enterprise Records and Information Management (RIM) Program.


Contributes to the overall success of the Enterprise Records and Information Management Program by ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.

Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Accountabilities_**:

  • Act as a Relationship Manager for a subsection of the Bank's business lines and corporate functions
  • Provide advice and direction for the governance of records and information to business lines and corporate functions.
  • Provide RIM expertise in support of the Bank's formal compliance and risk assessments.
  • Manage the RIM incident and issues management processes at the enterprise level.
  • Own and implement the enterpriselevel strategy for the management of physical records.
  • Draft and maintain the enterpriselevel procedures, job aids, guidelines, etc. related to this role.
  • Create educational materials and provide training related to this role's accountabilities to RIM stakeholders across the Bank, as applicable.
  • Complete regular reporting and contribute to committee coordination and presentations.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of RIM practices based on an understanding of the Bank's internal and external operating environments as well as leveraging industry best practices.
  • Participate in enterprisewide projects and initiatives to improve RIM practices.
  • Liaise with other RIM team members to ensure consistent standards for the RIM Program.
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in daytoday activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of daytoday business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

_Education/Experience_

  • 35 years' relevant work experience delivering and overseeing records management activities.
  • Degree or certification in Records and Information Management.
  • Compliance experience an asset
