Description
The Assistant Press Operator is a vital printing team member, responsible for supporting the Press Operator in operating and maintaining printing presses.
You help with setting up the press for printing, loading, and unloading paper, adjusting press settings, troubleshooting any issues that may arise, and conducting quality control checks.
Additionally, they assist with cleaning and maintenance of the press and related equipment, as well as keeping detailed records of their work.
Strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure are essential to excel in this role.
A high school diploma or equivalent and some prior experience in a printing environment are typically required.we offer employees:

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Reads dockets, sample board and schedule to determine run schedules
- Assists Press Operator with Press setup; including changing inks, material, mandrels, sleeves, aniloxes and
- Provides ink & maintains ink viscosity during run
- Loads raw material onto press with lifting equipment
- Unloads printed rolls from press & straps onto skids
- Maintains cleanliness of equipment, and area
- Other duties as assigned
- Adheres to all Safety rules in safe operation & handling of equipment and materials
Skills/Abilities:
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to read and interpret English information and instructions
- Ability to lift 60 lbs unaided
Education/Experience:
- Prior knowledge of the print industry
- Press experience is an asset
- High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Completion of printing program/diploma an asset
- Basic computer skills. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel an asset
Working Conditions:
- Noisy environment
- Exposure to solvents
- Adheres to Health & Safety rules including personal protective equipment
Salary:
$22.00-$23.00 per hour
Flexible Language Requirement:
- French not required

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- Weekend availability
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Brampton, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- Printing Press operator: 1 year (required)
