    Competitive Compensation with a signing bonus of $2,500 and a starting wage range of $ CAD per hour (with premium rates for overtime). You will be provided with a toolbox and basic set of tools valued at $2,000 CAD. You will also be allotted a $300 tool allowance each calendar year.

    Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor the Converting Mechanic is primarily responsible for installing, inspecting, adjusting and repairing equipment to support the Huntsville Mill converting assets on a 4-day 10 hour/week schedule while following safety rules and regulations.

    In this role, you will:

    • Be r esponsible for safe, efficient operation of equipment and basic quality surrounding the process.
    • Perform preventative maintenance checks and subsequently uses tools, machines, equipment and rigging and hoisting to facilitate preventative maintenance, installation, removal, and repairs of equipment.
    • Perform major machine overhauls and changeovers as well as mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting.
    • Responsible for reading and troubleshooting blue prints.
    • Safely operate machinery and equipment such as a lathe and perform processes such as milling, sheet metal work, pipefitting, and plumbing
    • Perform various reparation processes such as welding, basic rigging, oil/vibration analysis, fabrication, and basic machining.
    • Work with different mill teams to maintain, repair, and utilize various machinery and systems such as cooling and exhaust systems, pneumatic and hydraulic controls, fans, agitators, pumps, filters etc.
    • Use a computerized maintenance system to identify work, plan assigned work, maintain equipment repair and preventative maintenance history.
    • Work a standard schedule of four ten-hour days from 6:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Thursday with the possibility to cover either day or night shift and flex schedule based on business needs for shutdown coverage.
    • Primary responsibility will be the converting assets, but flow to work on other mill assets will be required at times.
    • Responsible for supervision of contractors during new installation and routine maintenance

    FLEXIBILITY:

    Willing to flex schedule to support personal and business objectives.

    Available for "call ins" to support business objectives.

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

    • Industrial environment (noise, dust, moving equipment, fluctuating temperatures etc.) May include prolonged periods of standing, along with bending, reaching, lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs, PPE, heights and confined spaces.
    • Scheduled hours may vary based on 24/7 operation of the mill.

    • High School Diploma or general education diploma required equivalent
    • "Red Seal" Certificate - Industrial Mechanic Millwright - preferred or "Red Seal" Certificate - General Machinist with minimum of 4 years practical millwrighting experience
