What will you do?

Essential Functions


The Material Handler I is responsible for ensuring all daily outbound shipment requirements are completed on-time and that all necessary documentation is filled out accurately and completely to meet shipment requirements.


Responsibilities:


  • Assists in the daily processing of all outbound shipments to ensure ontime shipments to all destinations.
  • Assists in the coordination of deliveries of material from outside warehouses.
  • Observe all LEAN and 5S initiatives and related procedures within the distribution environment

How will you get there?

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:


  • Minimum of a highschool certificate is required and college degreed persons will be considered for this position.
  • One to two years of related training and/or experience in distribution or receivingrelated business operations is ideal, but not required for this position
  • Must be able to prioritize daily work activities to ensure shipment requirements are aligned and accomplished.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate requirements to vendors, marketing and customer service through both verbal and written communication.
  • Build good working relationships with suppliers and external departments.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to help solve practical problems related to transportation activities and deal with a variety of situations where there is no clear precedent for action.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Requires good oral and written presentation skills to communicate ideas and procedures to management and peers.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Valid Power Lift Equipment License, WHMIS and IATA certification is a requirement.
  • This person will use their analytical skills to identify where deviations from standard procedures are warranted and to support one's position for corrective action.
  • Must be able to work and reason in a fastpaced, deadlinebased environment with a high degree of accuracy and accomplishment.

Physical Requirements:

- walks and stands intermittently during working day
- ability to move up to 30 lbs

  • Use of various Warehouse equipment such as power lift
  • Stoops, bends, lifts.
  • Prolonged computer use
  • Temperature ranges from 2 minus 20 degree Celsius
- work near moving mechanical parts and areas with hazardous chemicals
