Description

Our busy, newly renovated and growing paediatric clinic is seeking a professional, enthusiastic and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team in Toronto.

The Medical Assistant provides primary medical and administrative support to health care providers, General Paediatricians, to deliver optimal, high-quality patient and family-centred paediatric care.


Responsibilities

  • Performs relevant initial physical assessments for patients, take vitals, immunization history, etc.
  • Administers routine and flu immunizations to patients
  • Applicants with an (IMG) International Medical Graduate background are welcome
  • Coordinates followup patient care using electronic medical records program (EMR)
  • Processes outgoing physician referrals
  • Manages supply and storage of vaccines, ensuring compliance with public health unit regulations
  • Maintains a positive attitude and work cohesively with fellow team members to promote trust, respect and cooperation

Qualifications and Skills

  • Recent experience in a paediatric clinic or family care centre, preferred
  • Experience in administering immunizations, strongly preferred
  • International Medical Graduate (IMG) applicants are welcome
  • Excellent physical assessment skills, critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to organize patient care demands and to set priorities in a rapidly changing environment
  • Knowledge of common childhood illnesses and immunization schedules
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Bilingual in Punjabi an asset

Part-time hours: 30 per week


Flexible Language Requirement:

  • French not required

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends

Supplemental pay types:

  • Bonus pay

COVID-19 considerations:


All staff are required to be fully vaccinated, wear full PPE (provided): N95 mask, medical gown, gloves while facing patients and in common areas.

Common surfaces are sanitized regularly, and social distancing is maintained.
