Based out of our Mississauga, ON location, you will be expected to drive talent management from recruitment to performance and development by managing best recruitment practices in a rapidly growing organization, driving performance management on-time execution, and coordinating and implementing HR services, policies, training initiatives, and programs that foster a high-performance organization.

By processing accurate and timely payroll entries, leading the celebration of company culture and events, and ensuring rigorous compliance to statutes and laws in Ontario and New York State.


In addition, you will:

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, and province or state statutes by proactively maintaining current knowledge of Ontarian and NY State labor laws, conducting annualized compliance training initiatives, implementing companywide policies towards fairness and consistency, and by engaging managers and employees in these standards
  • Manage all aspects of workforce planning by guiding managers through fullcycle recruitment procedures for all ECT locations, developing talent pipelines, streamlining hiring practices, and identifying opportunities to manage temptohire recruitment with recruitment agency partners
  • Ensure timely processing of payroll by reviewing punches and payroll records for accuracy, and verifying payroll, benefits, LOA and Workers Compensation entries and eligibility
  • Build people development skills in managers and supervisors by identifying peoplemanagement performance opportunities, coaching and counseling managers through employee scenarios, utilizing inhouse online learning programs and tools, and securing outside individualized developmental opportunities
  • Celebrate, advocate, and propagate company culture by creatively drawing on company focused roles, preparing, enhancing, and presenting celebratory culture training presentations, and supporting and encouraging managers and employees to recognize moments of outstanding work of colleagues
  • Direct performance management and job purpose by coaching managers to develop SMART goals, reviewing and driving performance documentation to ensure timelines and quality feedback is consistently met, and by regular evaluations and rewrites of job descriptions and job responsibilities
  • Manage internal communications by resolving employee grievances, conducting thorough investigations to resolution, and by coaching managers in the how, when, or if to use progressive documentation. Also, by creating vibrant messaging and bulletin boards, managing events and community committees, and coordinating and executing employee "thank you" events
  • Provide HR Policy guidance and interpretation by supporting employee inquiries in areas such as progression and promotion, benefits, PTO, LOA, payroll, compensation, and rewards, and ensuring compliance to policies and mandates

Requirements:


  • BS or BA Degree, or equivalency
  • Extended demonstrable, knowledge of both Ontario and NY-State employment law, payroll, compensation and benefits, employee relations, training, organizational planning, and development
  • 5+ years of HR generalist experience
  • Strong performance management with employee relations experience required
  • Reliable, discreet, empathetic, exceptional trustworthiness required
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to influence others up, down, and through the company

Travel Demands:
Up to 15% in North American locations
