Clements is currently seeking a creative and enthusiastic part-time Children's Minister to foster a passion for Christ among children by providing creative, relevant and age-appropriate programming, teaching and pastoral care dedicated to faith formation in the context of a Family Ministries team.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Formation of children (JK to grade 5) as followers of Jesus via:
  • Sunday morning Children's Ministry
  • Ongoing pastoral care
  • Healthy and supportive partnerships with parents
  • Recruit, train, manage and mentor Children's Ministry volunteer leaders, including youth volunteers
  • Plan and lead key kids' events such as the Good Friday Children's Experience and Advent Party
  • Champion participation of children within the parish community through common worship, intergenerational activities, and special events (e.g. Mardi Gras)
  • Participate fully as an active member of the staff team
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:


  • A baptized follower of Jesus who worships regularly with a church community
  • Passionate about the spiritual formation and discipleship of children
  • Proven experience working with children, with a focus on teaching the faith
  • A firm theological grounding with the ability to navigate within a diverse context
  • Creativity and initiative to plan and implement innovative programming
  • Passionate about leadership development with experience developing leaders
  • Strong communication, administrative and organizational skills
  • Excited about collaborating with a strong team

Terms:


  • One year contract commencing in March 202
  • Salary range: $22 $24/hr commensurate with education and experience
  • 15 hours per week, with a focus on Sunday mornings & Tuesday staff meetings. However, due to the nature of the work, some weeks will involve more hours, which will be balanced with fewer hours other weeks. The most concentrated periods of work are Advent/Christmas, Lent/Holy Week, and September.
  • This position reports to and works closely with our Associate Priest overseeing Family Ministries.
