Department Overview

  • The Market Risk team is responsible for managing the everchanging and dynamic world of trading and nontrading market risk, counterparty credit, margin management, liquidity risk and model development. Capital Markets Risk Management (CMRM) is accountable for supporting TD Securities and TBSM business objectives in accordance with TD's risk appetite and regulatory expectations. CMRM provides independent oversight of enterprisewide market, counterparty credit and liquidity risks; ensuring all significant risks are appropriately measured, reported, analyzed and transparent.
  • As a Market Risk Analyst in CMRM, you will be part of a group that is responsible for a number of activities related to the analysis and reporting of Market Risk, and policy implementation. The team executes infrastructure changes with regards to the implementation of new or revised risk policies, system migration, model implementations, valuation methodologies and analysis of the key measures used by the bank to monitor and control market risk. CMRM is a global business supporting offices in Toronto, Calgary, New York, Singapore, Dublin and London.
  • Support and provide oversight, commentary, and strategic recommendations in connection to team and individual initiatives
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with enterprise policies, frameworks, and TD's risk appetite
  • Develop and operationalize standards, policies and processes to identify, report and mitigate overall risk exposures within the business
  • Build and maintain knowledge of existing and emerging risks across the business
  • Conduct reporting and analysis at the functional or enterprise level using results to draw conclusions and make recommendations on programs, policies and practices
  • Be accountable for own work and sometimes others; act as an escalation point for others in own area
  • Motivate and build relationships with internal and external business partners
  • Encourage a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, knowledge of the business, quality, innovation and teamwork

Job Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or technical certificate and/or over 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Working knowledge of risk processes and methodologies
  • Excellent analytical, judgement and decisionmaking skills
  • A strong team associate with positive attitude, excellent organizational and communication skills, and ability to prioritize and multitask with mínimal direction to meet tight deadlines
  • Python and VBA is considered an asset
