Job Description:


AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated GIS Specialist for employment

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and associated software to produce, display, and analyze geographic information
  • Develop and maintain databases, reports, and mapping
  • Create, organize, manipulate, and retrieve GIS data for reporting, analysis, and presentation purposes
  • Perform quality assurance of GIS data and associated graphic components
  • Supporting digital data collection programs
  • Will use concepts, practices and procedures to extract and provide GIS data to clients
  • Work under supervision of a project manager or seniorlevel team member
  • Develops and maintains databases, reports, and maps.
  • Creates, organizes, manipulates, and retrieves GIS data for reporting, analysis, and presentation purposes
  • Prepares and updates metadata
  • Performs quality assurance of GIS data and associated graphic components
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

Qualifications:


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography or other related field required
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Associate's degree in GIS or other related field required
  • Willingness to travel (up to 10% local travel)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4 years of relevant experience
  • Basic experience working with ArcGIS and other GIS databases
  • Proficiency with ESRI desktop mapping and analysis tools and extensions (ArcGIS Online, Portal, Web Apps, Survey 123 etc)
  • Understanding of complex relational database organization, design, and functionality
  • Proficiency in the processing and analysis of raster and vector geospatial data
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cartographic design and production concepts and principles
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate in both verbal and written form
  • Familiar with GIS production environments
  • Working knowledge of LiDAR processing techniques
  • Working knowledge of raster processing techniques
  • Driver's license
