Information Management Specialist
You Will:
- Process and input data into information management systems in accordance with legislation, processes and procedures;
- Query multiple information systems and sources, including continuous information exchange with external police agencies and justice partners;
- Ensure the accuracy and validity of information in RMS and CPIC; identify and communicate discrepancies to the originator for clarification or correction;
- Act as a resource to implement or recommend changes to processes and procedures relevant to information management;
- Communicate processes and procedures related to information management to members, including those in senior positions;
- Support the criminal coding of occurrences for reporting to Statistics Canada;
- Collaborate with the immediate work team, larger Branch team, sworn members and other Branches/Divisions responsible for information sharing and information management;
- Analyze multiple information sources and take appropriate action or make recommendations based on procedures and training;
- Ensure records retention in accordance with applicable legislation and procedures; and
- Perform other duties as assigned.
You Have:
- Proficiency in reading, writing, communication, mathematics, and conflict resolution are required; normally acquired through successful completion of postsecondary education in records and information management, data quality, or a related field. A combination of education and experience may be considered;
- One (1) year of relevant experience in legal or justice administration, health care administration, information management, or a related discipline is required;
- Previous experience in customer service is preferred;
- Superior organizational skills to prioritize workload and balance completing priorities;
- Strong professional judgement when interacting with a variety of stakeholders;
- Excellent comprehension skills to capture details when entering information into systems or analyzing information from multiple sources; and
- Concise and clear written abilities to communicate time sensitive information to stakeholders and effective proofreading skills to identify errors or omissions under time constraints.
You Are:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs;
- Able to retain and recall large amounts of technical information;
- Able to demonstrate critical thinking and resourcefulness when problem solving;
- Able to demonstrate flexibility and resiliency in order to manager a dynamic workload and ongoing changes to practices and processes; and
- Able to meet the testing and police security requirements for the position.
