Specific Duties:


Staff Responsibilities

  • Working with officers, oneonone to guide them to be successful in their positions and to maintain a high level of morale amongst the coworkers.
  • Is responsible for onboarding new Officers for positional duties, factoring in skills, performance, site requirements and officer's availabilities.
  • Is involved in selection of Officer for the site, working with the Administration Coordinator to schedule their training and ensuring required orientations and other documents are completed in time.
  • Is expected to maintain records of staff training, scheduling training as required in accordance with the contractual requirements of the site.
  • Will emphasize on employee motivation via accolades, award nominations, team activities, etc.
  • Will meet with Shift Leads on regular basis, following up on various projects, employee evaluations and other staff related issues.
  • Will monitor employee performance; find deficiencies and areas where development is required at individual and team levels. The Operations Supervisor will also devise means to eliminate these deficiencies.
  • Will actively be involved in the officer's evaluation process and documentation.
  • Will be actively involved in the investigation and resolution of any issues in daily operations of Security on site.

Training Responsibilities

  • Train and monitor new staff for suitability to their position and for long term success.
  • Work through orientation manuals with each new staff member and sign off when training is completed.
  • Ensuring all staff have reviewed and fully understand the site Post Orders (SOP's) and that all officers have signed off on the SOP's.
  • Work with new and existing staff on all emergency procedures to ensure staff are current and very familiar with how to deal with any emergencies that may arise.
  • Prepare monthly tabletop exercises and initiate with staff on all three shifts.
  • Maintain a safe/inclusive working environment to bolster morale.
  • Will have excellent knowledge of all Security related systems being used at the site and will report desired updates and maintenance required by these systems, to the Site Manager and Administration Coordinator.

Other Responsibilities

  • May also be called after hours (on call) to attend the site in emergent cases and will be expected to report findings and actions to Paladin and the client.
  • Will be a source of information and knowledge for Security Officers in relation to Site or Paladin issues.
  • Be flexible to move working hours to ensure time is spent with each shift (Days, Afternoons, Graveyards) on a weekly/monthly basis.

Qualifications

Overnight/Graveyards Availability is required for this role.

Skills and Abilities:


  • Ability to lead the team in day to day operations and foster good relationships.
  • Ability to understand complex scenarios, including emergencies and to come up with plans and procedures to effectively counter them.
  • Ability to find potential leaders in team and coach and mentor them to take higher roles.
  • Ability to take charge of extensive and regular site duties and devise plans to complete them.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, including delivering presentations to groups.
  • Must be able to plan means of maintaining and raising staff motivation and job involvement.
  • Provide input to Administration Coordinator to devise site quizzes, tests and drill scenarios.
  • Strong Knowledge of Site Orders and policies along with Access Control, Fire Control, CCTV and other site related systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Paladin Security Group's policies, vision and work culture.
  • Must be willing to attend various leadership trainings the Paladin Security Group offers.
  • Exemplify on a daily basis, Paladins CARE initiatives.
The Operations Supervisor heads the actual manpower of the Security team at one of our Commercial site.

By being an interface between the workforce and policy makers, the Operations Supervisor ensures the operational success of all policies and procedures.

The Operations Supervisor works closely with Site Manager and many a times the two positions will share duties and responsibilities.

While working directly with Officers at the root level of the team, the Operations Supervisor is the key person ensuring employee motivation and satisfaction.
