    At CBCL Limited, we are a successful, dynamic, growing engineering and environmental consulting firm. We have an exciting opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join our team in our Sydney, NS office.

Through all stages of the design process, you will be encouraged to take a leading role in delivering exceptional results for our clients.

    Your Key Responsibilities:

    • Project Management, including financial management, resource management, change order management, and invoicing;
    • Business Development in the province of Nova Scotia;
    • Structural Design calculations and analysis;
    • Coordination of design support staff;
    • Provide mentoring and technical support to junior staff members;
    • Preparation of technical specification and construction documents;
    • Construction contract administration; and
    • Periodic site work including meetings, field reviews and measurements
    • Meet and liaise with clients;

    Your Capabilities and Credentials:

    • University Degree in Civil Engineering specializing in Structural Engineering;
    • 10+ years of experience in structural design and construction administration;
    • Specialization in all building types, including but not limited to: institutional, educational, apartment/condominium, and industrial buildings;
    • Experience in structural design and construction administration in masonry restoration, water and wastewater treatment plant design as well as industrial structures, electrical utility support structures and marine works would be considered an asset;
    • Registration as a Professional Engineer in Canada with eligibility for registration with Engineers NS;
    • Familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD;
    • Experience with industry standard software such as ETABS, SAP 2000, S-Frame, Lusas and Revit would be considered an asset;
    • Detail oriented, organized, hardworking, with a team player attitude;
    • Ability to balance professional commitments to meet project deadlines;
    • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills;
    • Valid driver's license and be able to travel to job sites within Atlantic Canada.
