Facility Manager


Core Purpose of Job:
Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of facilities.

Accountable for ensuring compliance with all regulatory and code requirements while maintaining regular communication with clients regarding service, maintenance, and operational needs.

The Facility Manager will lead a diverse team, driving superior performance across key metrics including Customer Service, Operations and Maintenance, Safety, Financial Performance, and Employee Engagement.


Scope of Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Hold overall responsibility for the daytoday service delivery and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Cultivate culture of continuous improvement and excellence in customer service within the FM team.
  • Supervise Lead Building Operators and manage their daytoday deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and code requirement within the scope of services.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies as required,such as TSSA.
  • Foster a productive working relationship with the service delivery team
  • Supervise and direct staff in services, maintenance, and operations encompassing Preventative and Corrective maintenance
  • Conduct inspections and tours of equipment, systems and areas; document tasks, work plans, and utilize CMMS.
  • Schedule and oversee all maintenance and/or repair/replacement with the appropriate personnel.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with all aspects of the building operations, and ensure safe and efficient system operation.
  • Exercise financial and commercial controls in the management of expenditure and income within established budgets, aiming for operational efficiency and ongoing cost savings.
  • Ensure all health, safety and security procedures are adhered to and areas of concern are reported to the appropriate parties in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures of the client.
  • Evaluate staff performance and provide relevant training and development opportunities to achieve the highest standards of personal contribution.

Essential Requirements:


  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Facility Management
  • Thorough working knowledge of building systems and a comprehensive understanding of maintenance systems (e.g., pumps, emergency generators, HVAC, boilers, chillers).
  • Effective oral and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Strong Customer Service orientation.
  • Proficiency in BAS and CMMS.
  • Capable of producing clear, wellstructured, and concise written summaries and reports.
  • Must have Clear Criminal Record Check (CPIC)
  • Valid Province of Ontario driver's license in good standing
  • Able to work independently with mínimal direction and respond effectively to emergency situations
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks, ensuring successful results within agreed timeframes.
