Position Summary


The Cage Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and monitoring daily operations and functions of the Casino Cage and Count Room.

In the absence of a Cage Shift Manager, the Cage Shift Supervisor assumes responsibility of the shift. S/he is collaborative, excels at multi-tasking and displays exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

The Cage Shift Supervisor will motivate, will lead by example, will provide a learning environment, and will ensure adherence to all policies and procedures.


Job Duties

  • Responsible for the daily overseeing and monitoring of all functions of the Casino Cage including the Main Bank, Employee Services, Chip Bank, Front Windows and Count Room;
  • Trains, schedules and evaluates Cage Cashiers and Count Room Attendants, and regularly provides feedback;
  • Ensures that the Cage and Count Room is in compliance with Provincial Gaming Regulations and Casino Nova Scotia Internal Controls, policies and procedures;
  • Promotes outstanding customer relations and creates a positive and safe working environment that will enhance productivity and service;
  • Performs administrative duties as required in a supervisory capacity, including the preparation and implementation of procedures;
  • Assists in establishing, implementing and auditing controls of policies and safekeeping controls for the Cage;
  • Finds ways to
    Play; you are serious about work, without being serious in your demeanor;
  • Other duties as assigned including Guest Services;

Minimum Qualifications

  • A good fit for the Casino Nova Scotia culture and philosophy and has a playful, infectious and "all about the guest" attitude
  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent is required
  • NSAGD certification as a Cage Cashier is required upon hiring
  • Minimum one year supervisory experience in an operational environment required
  • Must demonstrate an understanding of the importance of compliance with policies and procedures, as well as adherence to internal controls
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate a team
  • Demonstrates excellent Customer Service skills, has the ability to promote excellent guest service, and build and maintain respectful departmental and interdepartmental relationships
