Student Human Resources Assistant:
Community Living St.
Catharines (CLSC) is a dynamic and innovative non-profit social service agency providing services and supports to people who have an intellectual disability.
Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Human Resources, the incumbent will provide support for the development, implementation, and administration of the agency's human resources
Responsibilities will include:
health and safety, recruitment and selection, agency training, and administration support.
We are seeking one Summer Student to work June-August and the position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Grant.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with administrative duties including preparing documents and phone calls, filing, and data entry.
- Updating, and filing of HR records
- Assist in various Health & Safety projects
- Develop and update orientation and training content as needed
- Assist with recruitment including prescreening, interviewing, completing reference checks, etc.
- Develop and/or update HR spreadsheets
- Research, recommend and assist in revision of policy development
- Complete general HR duties in the HR department as needed
- Maintain a safe healthy working environment
Qualifications:
- Between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment
- Is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Legally entitled to work according to provincial legislation and regulations
- Interest in supporting adults who have intellectual disabilities
- Interest in Human Resources Management in a not for profit setting
Other Requirements:
- Satisfactory Police Clearance (18 years and older)
- Completed or currently enrolled in one of the following postsecondary program: Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Health and Safety is an asset
Salary:
$17.00 per hour, 35 hours per week, 12 week total
