Zurich Canada is currently looking for a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our Transactional Pricing Team. Reporting to the VP & Actuarial Director, you will support the pricing and reserving of new/renewal business and the development of effective premium/rating structures. In this role, you will partner with key stakeholders from the business including market facing underwriter, fronting managers, and global pricing teams to support business objectives. This is a hybrid work opportunity where the role can be based in a Zurich, Canada office (including Toronto or Montreal).

What you will do

• Develop pricing models, reflecting complex structures of accounts, high deductibles/SIRs, and/or aggregates.
• Collaborate with market-facing underwriting to deliver creative solutions to our clients.
• Provide consultation on actuarial models and risk issues.
• Support discussions with brokers and external clients using data-driven insights to influence positive outcomes.

• Improve model templates based on technical considerations and priorities for the business.
• Mentor less experienced actuaries, providing guidance and review of their work, to ensure quality and foster growth.

Job Qualifications

Required

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics / Statistics / Actuarial Sciences or other technical degree.
• ACAS or equivalent international certification.
• 5 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area.

Preferred

• Previous actuarial pricing experience in Commercial Lines of business.
• Experience in multiple functional areas (pricing, reserving, capital management) valued.
• Experience collaborating on cross-functional team projects.
• Ability to explain technical analysis results to non-technical audiences.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and/or knowledge of statistical analysis software (eg. R, Python, SQL).

At Zurich Canada, we are committed to pay equity. We determine compensation based on objective criteria such as skills, experience, and internal equity. The salary range for this position is 80, ,000. This range reflects the expected pay for the role across Canada and may vary depending on factors like office location, specific responsibilities, and individual qualifications. As required by local law, Zurich provides in good faith a reasonable compensation range, but starting salaries may exceed this range based on a candidate's skills and experience.
