Scope of Work:
We have an immediate need for a full-time IT Project Coordinator located in Hamilton, Ontario.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare high level system designs in a thorough and professional manner during the presales cycle. Design work may include conducting site surveys and device markups, network architecture design, server loading, writing technical narratives and proposals, and preparing bills of materials to be submitted with the quotation.
- Produce detailed design drawings and technical descriptions of physical security, other building technologies and the supporting networking, server, and storage architectures in collaboration with owners and their representatives.
- Develop postsale design documents and SharePoint folders that will guide program and project stakeholders with bill of materials validation and reconciliation, providing advice on alternatives where required based on availability of parts and operational requirements.
- Develop financial estimates using preexisting templates and price list for multiple project sizes, independently and in collaboration with project management.
- Ensure a consistent pricing strategy, methodology, and forecasted profitability, following established guidelines and contract parameters.
- Multitask and manage time effectively to prioritize projects, tasks, and meetings as necessary
- Identify, establish, and document processes to support design efficiency and scalability through development and maintenance of new and existing standards related to programs and projects.
- Develop productive relationships with clients and key stakeholders which will build respect and confidence in the organization's capabilities.
Experience and Education:
- A minimum of three years of design experience in the information technology and integrated security systems.
- Field experience in construction and implementation of physical security systems and low voltage technologies is an asset
- An understanding of and experience with fundamental concepts pertaining to IP networks, low voltage electronics, power, and communications.
- Ability to create and edit design drawings, spread sheets, program sheets and projects handover documentation.
- A strong command of the English language supported by excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks and projects and be responsive to changing priorities in a fastpaced environment
- Postsecondary education from an accredited college, university, or technical institution in Business, Construction Management, Electronics, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- Registration with a professional engineering organization is an asset
- Highly developed analytical and problemsolving skills
- Motivated selfstarter with ambition to independently research new technologies as well as engineering and business methodologies/concepts
