The
Warranty Assessor is responsible for the review and processing of dealer Warranty Claims, responding to dealer inquiries, escalations and appeals related to these claims.

The Warranty Assessor also provides support to dealers on Warranty Administration needs, in line with Kia Canada's (KCA) Warranty Policies & Procedures.

Position reports to the Manager, Warranty Management. Position works with other key functions including the Kia Technical Assistance Centre (KTAC), Field Services and Regional Field Teams.


Responsibilities

  • Review and process dealer Warranty Claims according to KCA's policies & procedures and within the expected timelines
  • Review and approve Prior Work Authorization (PWA) requests from dealers as part of prework for future warranty claims.
  • Communicate with dealers as needed, to ensure claims processed in a timely manner.
  • Identify outofpolicy warranty conditions and address it with dealers as needed.
  • Support management in the implementation of controls to limit noncompliant warranty claims.
  • Inspect and review documents supporting Warranty Claims and Warranty Parts Returns.
  • Collaborate with Kia Technical Assistance Centre (KTAC) as needed e.g., Repair validations, etc.
  • Interface with other KCA departments such as Quality Assurance, Government Affairs, Field Services, After Sales (Parts supply) and Field Teams.
  • Assist in development and generation of reports as required by Service and After Sales (SAS) management.
  • Assist with the creation and implementation of new processes and procedures as needed.
  • Other special assignments and tasks as identified by SAS management.

Skills / Knowledge / Experience / Education Required

  • Strong technical background in automotive industry is highly preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and procedures.
  • Ability to work with KCA information systems, to support warranty claim processing.
  • Minimum 2years' experience in data entry/processing, clerical support and/or dealer service operations.
  • Basic accounting skills.
  • MS Office Suite; Strong competency in Excel.
  • Successful completion of Post Secondary education in related discipline.
  • Bilingual in French and English (written/oral) is preferable.
