Edmonton Hospital Workers Child Care Society (EHWCCS) is committed to:

We operate a licensed and accredited early learning program, serving children between the ages of 10 months and 6 years.

Our program is
Reggio Emilia inspired, and influenced by the work of
Magda Gerber and
Dr. Emmi Pikler.

We believe in treating all children as whole, competent individuals, and in treating them (and all people) with trust, dignity, and respect.

We are currently seeking
Early Childhood Educators to join our Educator team in the following roles:

  • Full-time relief coverage until at least the end of the year, covering an Educator's leave of absence in our Preschool Room; converting to variable relief position after leave of absence coverage is completed
  • Collaborating with the Educator Team in delivering childdirected, interestbased, responsive programming adapted to meet the needs of a diverse group of children with a wide range of development

Shift Schedule:


  • Monday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Tuesday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
  • Wednesday 6:30 am to 3:30 pm
  • Thursday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
  • Friday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
All shifts have a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.


Applicants Must Have:


  • Alberta Level 1 Early Childhood Educator Certification (or higher)
  • Experience working with children under the age of 6 years
  • Excellent communication skills in English (both written and spoken)
  • Experience dealing with parents/the public
  • Valid childcare first aid certification
  • Police security clearance, including vulnerable sector search, dated within the past 6 months;

Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19:

  • Must be willing to follow a respectful, positive, proactive, strengths-based approach to child guidance;
  • Recognition of the value and importance of openended play in children's growth and development
  • Excellent critical thinking and selfreflection abilities

Strongly Preferred:


  • Familiarity with "Play, Participation, and Possibilities: An Early Learning and Child Care Curriculum Framework for Alberta" (recently renamed "
    Flight") is an asset;
  • Familiarity with the work and philosophy of
    Magda Gerber and/or
    Dr. Emmi Pikler is a strong asset;
  • Experience with the Pyramid Teaching Model (ASaP) is an asset;
  • Experience working with children with diverse needs an asset;
  • Applicants with postsecondary education in Early Learning and Childcare and/or working with children with diverse needs strongly preferred.

Salary:
$15.00-$16.50 per hour
