We are looking for anAccounting Technician, Trust to join our team in
Calgary, AB.
This role has a
hybrid** work arrangement, required to work on site in our Calgary office with flexibility to work from home a few days a week.
YOUR ROLE
The Accounting Technician, Trust will support the Finance Team with day-to-day GroupSource Trust Accounting functions and interactions with clients, internal stakeholders and others.
YOUR IMPACT
- Coordinate with Client Services Team to address client inquiries as needed
- A/R for client premiums payment processing & collections
- Remit premium to the carriers and prepare reporting
- Prepare statements for client's HSA/ASO accounts
- Process claim payments to plan members
- Reconcile Trust bank accounts
- Prepare Trust account trial balance reconciliations
- Other trust accounting related duties as assigned
WHAT TO EXPECT
Within 30 Days:
- CEBS first of four courses to be completed
- Train and become proficient using Sage Intacct
- Train and become proficient on billing & reporting systems
- Complete training for CRM
- Develop a strong understanding of the trust accounting functions
- Complete daily tasks independently (cheque deposit, claim payments)
Within 60 Days:
- CEBS second of four courses to be completed
- Work independently to process monthly PAD payments
- Develop a keen understanding of our collections process
- Work independently to prepare, review & distribute client ASO statements
Within 90 Days:
- CEBS all four courses to be completed
- Work independently to followup with overdue accounts, processing suspensions & terminations per guidelines
- Have a thorough understanding of the ASO process & preparing monthly payment files & reporting
- Ability to answer client inquiries & complete tasks with mínimal supervision
THIS IS YOU
- Accounting certificate/diploma
- 2+ years' experience in an Accounting role or equivalent
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Detail oriented, accurate, and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
THIS IS NICE
- Experience with Microsoft Great Plains is an asset
- Experience with Trust Accounting is an asset

YOUR COMPENSATION
At the time of this posting, the estimated base salary for this position is $55,000-$60,000. Individual compensation within this range is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and education/training.
This range reflects the base salary and does not encompass our comprehensive total rewards, benefits, and potential bonuses that we proudly offer.
