The role of the general labourer is a full-time position where the successful applicant will work under the direct supervision of the Foreman and department team leads The labourer will work in the manufacturing shop assisting in the manufacturing of elevator interior components and accessories as well as completing other general duties as required.

Job specifications:

Education/experience

Prior similar experience
Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques
Intermediate knowledge of hand tools and general manufacturing processes
Experience with material handling
Intermediate knowledge of hand and power tools and general manufacturing processes

Complexity/analysis
- intermediate position

Inventory control
Organizational skills are an asset
Always follows safe work practices

Direction received

Receives direction from the Foreman and team leads to prioritize work and ensure deadlines are met
Assists other employees if required

Responsibilities/Accountability

Finishing, applying, mixing painting, cab assembly
General cleanup
Must always adhere to safe work practices and procedures as well as all other applicable health and safety laws and regulations

Inside/outside relationships

Frequent contact with Foreman and other warehouse employees
Interacting with vendor delivery people daily

Position conditions

Work area can be hot and humid during summer season, cold during winter
Standing and walking, occasional medium to heavy lifting and bending.
Works in dusty/noisy environments at times
Must wear appropriate PPE

Salary:
$18.00-$19.00 per hour
