    Our valued client, a large Oil & Gas Midstream client are seeking an Intermediate Project Engineer to join their Calgary team on a long term contract basis.

    About the role:

    Our Projects team works on a wide range of diverse, cutting edge projects to expand, maintain, and optimize our existing operations; from relatively small pipeline tie-ins to complex facility projects with values ranging from $250k -$20 million.

    The Projects group has a strong track record of delivering projects, over the past several years, for a diverse asset base which includes Pipelines, Storage Terminals and Production Facilities. This team also integral to the development and execution of Energy Optimization and ESG initiatives, which are focus areas for the business. The

    Candidate is expected to display leadership, self-motivation and technical skills required to continue to build upon the strong performance achieved to date.

    Responsibilities:


    • Promote a culture of safety, regulatory and environmental responsibility throughout project execution

    cycles;


    • Provide strategic leadership and direction for of a suite of projects with accountability for project safety,

    scope, cost, quality, and schedule;


    • Interact and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to lead and direct multiple small

    projects


    • Develop and implement project execution strategies and plans.;


    • Establish and enforce a culture which supports efficient use of project controls processes in relation to

    effective control of scope, quality, cost and schedule;


    • Ensuring projects adhere to all applicable regulatory requirements, design standards, and best

    practices.


    • Mentoring of EITs and junior team members.

    Qualifications:


    • Degree in Mechanical/Petroleum/Chemical Engineering from an accredited university and must have registered Professional Engineer in Alberta;


    • 4-8 years of mechanical, chemical, process or production engineering experience in implementing

    projects and providing operational support for crude, NGL or LPG pipelines and facilities;


    • Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and cross functional teams in an efficient and collaborative

    manner;


    • A proven track record of managing diverse and multiple projects with a solid understanding of project

    execution processes related to engineering, project controls, regulatory and environment, HSE, supply chain2

    management, construction, pre-commissioning and operations turnover;


    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organization, prioritization and technical skills;


    • Ability to meet tight, fluctuating deadlines, while being able to multi-task and efficiently respond to competing

    priorities is critical;


    • Self-motivated and able to work independently with a minimum of supervision;


    • Strong computer skills proficient with Microsoft Office, Project and financial reporting programs; and


    • Respect for maintaining confidentiality and exercising solid judgment.
