Tasks and Responsibilities:


  • Arrive promptly for shift once called in by Snow Operations Person
  • Demonstrate competency with trucks, plows, salters, etc.
  • Keep properties clear of snow and ice to optimize safety
  • Inform Snow Operations Person of any potential hazards or additional work required on sites (sales assist)
  • Complete and accurate time tracking for billing purposes
  • Safe operation of all tools and equipment
  • Maintain equipment as needed

Results (measure of success):


  • Properties are attended to in a timely manner
  • Minimal accidents and incidents related to snow on sites
  • Increased up sales
  • Equipment is monitored and maintained to minimize down time
  • Timecards are accurate and submitted in a timely fashion

Qualifications:


Skills:


  • Ability to operate or learn to operate equipment such as tractors, skid steers, plows, salters, snow blowers and shovels.
  • Strong knowledge of snow removal techniques
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Good problemsolving skills
  • Willingness to teach and learn from others

Experience:


  • Experience an asset

Education

  • Certifications in areas of safety and equipment operation including WHMIS, CPR, First AID, etc.
  • College Diploma, Apprenticeship, CHT, University degree in Horticulture or Landscape Technology an asset
