Description

Notch is an early-stage biotech company, working to maximize the benefit of cell therapies through a proprietary T cell-production platform which combines sophisticated product design with commercial-compatible processes to enhance patient outcomes.

Notch's iPSC-based technology platform allows for precision control of notch signaling, which removes several critical limiting factors in the development of cell therapies, delivering the ability to design and manufacture a uniform and unlimited supply of therapeutic T cells.

Role Summary

As a
Research Associate II, Cell Line Development at Notch Therapeutics, you will be part of a diverse team focused on advancing iPSC-derived T-cell therapeutics from discovery-stage through scale-up and clinical manufacturing.

You will provide technical knowledge and hands-on expertise in stem cell culture, process development and optimization, experimental design, and cell characterization.

You will collaborate with protein and cell engineering, manufacturing sciences, and analytical development teams to develop, optimize, and mature processes suitable for preclinical and clinical production of iPSC-derived T cells.

You will be responsible for task definition, planning, execution, and reporting of internal and partner-facing projects.

You will be a leader in bringing new and innovative products, technologies, and processes to the market to enable life-saving advances in cell therapy.

Key responsibilities:

  • Execute experiments independently or under supervision in crossfunctional teams, to drive translation of research protocols into clinical manufacturing of engineered clonal iPSC lines.
  • Support studies of cell line development, such as gene editing, clonal line derivation and clone characterization.
  • Maintain, expand, and cryopreserve edited clonal iPSC cell lines at scale.
  • Support studies of iPSC differentiation to Tcells and the generation and characterization of intermediate banks.
  • Perform standard molecular biology techniques including microscopy/image analysis, PCR, ddPCR, qPCR, Sanger sequencing and flow cytometry.
  • Support the execution of pilot/feasibility, engineering and manufacturing runs for edited clonal iPSC lines.
  • Collaborate closely with crossfunctional teams to ensure alignment of protocols.
  • Analyze experimental data, identify trends, and make datadriven decisions to improve process robustness, yield, and product quality.
  • Maintain electronic laboratory notebooks for proper documentation of all research activities. Support technology transfer of processes and SOP and batch record generation.
  • Generate reports, summaries, and presentations supporting experimental results.
  • Demonstrate continuous integrity, credibility, and positivity and motivate others to do the same.
  • Support efforts to establish and maintain policies and procedures related to lab operations and biosafety.
  • Exemplify company values and actively encourage others to demonstrate them by identifying corresponding behaviors.

Other responsibilities as required.

Role Requirements and Qualifications

  • Masters degree in molecular or cellular biology, genetics, biotechnology, or related field; Bachelors degree with 2 years related industry experience; or equivalent related industry work experience.
  • Preferably >2 years of industry experience.
  • Extensive experience in mammalian cell culture and characterization, preferably in iPSC and primary Tcells. Human stem cell knowledge and hands on experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with cell and molecular biology techniques, such as primer, guide, probe
- and vector design, PCR, and flow cytometry.

  • Experience with and knowledge of gene editing techniques, such as CRISPR/Cas9 is preferred.
  • Experience in clonal iPSC line generation and characterization is a plus.
  • Scientific background and understanding of cell and gene therapy, technology transfer, GMP manufacturing and product characterization.
  • Understanding of statistical methods and design of experiments.
  • Ability to independently execute and report research projects.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to exemplify company values (Collaborative, Motivated, Ingenious) and identify corresponding behaviors in others.
