Job Description
The role of the H&S Coordinator is to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of occupational injuries to worker's compensation boards across Canada.
The Coordinator will report to the Sr Health and Safety Manger and will be a part of the Extendicare Head Office Occupational Health, Safety and Wellbeing team.
The H &S coordinator will provide meaningful insight and assistance to internal stakeholders to ensure the success of the Occupational Return to Work Program.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the Intake, review/analysis, completion and submission of all occupational incident reports to applicable provincial worker's compensation boards the OH&S Coordinator is responsible to ensure legislated reporting requirements are implemented and engage internal stakeholders accordingly.
- This includes advising on initial modified work and writing of initial period objection letters as required.
- Collaborate with Worker's Compensation Representatives where required.
- Report and communicate with OH&S agencies where applicable of legislated notification requirements
- Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on occupational claims management strategies and best practices
- Deliver coaching and educational Sessions/webinar on an adhoc basis to internal stakeholders
- Responsible for occupational incident data collection from internal stakeholder to ensure accuracy and optimize provincial reporting strategies driven by business processes.
- Participate in OH&S Claims management program review and evaluation and provide user's experience feedback
- Provide general OH&S support to internal stakeholders as required
- Liaise with the worker's compensation boards on claims related matters as required.
- Generate regular and adhoc OH&S reports as required
Requirements:
- 12 years of experience in OHS and Claims Management Experience Proficient in the use of Microsoft Applications Background in a healthcare environment would be an asset Ability to communicate and work effectively on a multidisciplinary team. Excellent organizational and problemsolving skills. Previous experience in handling confidential or sensitive information; Able to manage time efficiently and prioritize multiple tasks. Superior telephone manners and strong interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to travel within the region for meetings as required. College diploma in a related field i.e., Business Administration, HR entry level, LR, OHS or payroll
