Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Must be able to provide and maintain a satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check.
  • Must be able to provide and maintain a satisfactory Adult Abuse Registry Check.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5F Drivers licence.
  • Must be able to work overtime and on weekends as required.

Qualifications:

Essential:


  • Extensive work experience as a practicing locksmith; this would include: cutting keys, pinning locks, repairing / replacing doors and hardware, writing key bidding sheets / master and submaster key systems.
  • Experience locksmithing in conjunction with electronic security systems (integration with card access, intercoms, alarms).
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce written materials such as reports, manuals and procedures.
  • Effective verbal communication skills with the the ability to communicate and present to all levels of the organization, and with external stakeholders.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, demonstrated by the ability to establish trust, as well as to develop and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Proficient in Excel and experience with MS Office Suite Applications (Word, Outlook, and MS Teams).

Duties:


Reporting to the Manager of Security Operations, the Security Locksmith is responsible for the installation, maintenance, procedures, and policies related to locks and doors, and specifically the Restricted Key System of Manitoba Housing, while ensuring that Manitoba Housings policies, procedures, and guidelines are being followed.

This position works closely with Property Managers, Project Managers, the Security Operations Manager, and Mobile Security Officers, as well with external contractors.
