As an Application Specialist, your role will encompass:

Design and Specification Process

  • Collaborate closely with clients and Account Executives (Business Development Managers
  • BDMs) to conduct a comprehensive needs analysis, gaining a profound understanding of their requirements for furniture, products, and services while taking into account budget and timelines.
  • Conduct site inspections, taking accurate measurements, and producing detailed asbuilt drawings and specifications.
  • Create an inventory of existing products and generate comprehensive asbuilt drawings and specifications.
  • Engage in indepth programming, preparing program reports, conducting customer and enduser interviews, researching workplace needs, and analyzing space and furniture requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with Project Managers, Account Executives (BDMs), and Process Management teams to define the project scope and product selections.
  • Develop and present block and space plans, including 2D and 3D representations, material selections, and color palettes.
  • Produce detailed working drawings for specifications and installation, including rendered 3D representations for each project.
  • Develop product specifications, crossverify them with the plans, and ensure they are ready for order entry.
  • Efficiently manage changes and revisions through the designated change order process.
  • Take responsibility for the accuracy of specifications and seek customer approvals by validating plans against construction, electrical engineering, and Architectural & Design (A&D) drawings.
  • Conduct field inspections and collaborate on punch list reviews with project managers and installation teams.
  • Estimate project design timelines and maintain precise daily time reports, comparing actual time spent with initial project estimates.
  • Contribute to research on new products, evaluating them within "good, better, best" scenarios, in alignment with other product lines.
  • Maintain and update the design library.
  • Participate in visits from manufacturer representatives to stay informed about new products and innovations.
  • Showcase new and noteworthy products to the entire company.
  • Ensure each project undergoes a thorough audit by another designer before the proposal phase, and personally audit the work of other designers before any proposal submission.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including records of key decisions, phone conversations, approvals, signoffs, revisions, and project notes.
  • Ensure adherence to project schedules, internal budgets, customer budgets, task completion, and work quality.
  • Maintain regular communication to keep customers and the process management team updated on project status, utilizing the project management module.

Presentation and Proposals

  • Assist in composing and presenting design proposals and contracts to clients.
  • Include information about OE (Nua Office Inc.), the project team, and provide brochures and warranty information for all products used in every proposal.
  • Present solutions to clients using 2D and 3D drawings, renderings, and virtual walkthroughs of the space.
