Atripco is seeking an AM Operations Supervisor (6am start) to join our growing cartage team.

Reporting to the General Manager and working from our client's site located in Oakville, this hands-on role will oversee a team of heavy truck drivers to ensure effective and efficient operations for a dedicated contract.

As a leader, your strong leadership skills, transportation logistics, and sound business-based decision making will ensure operations run smoothly and efficiently.


What you will be doing:


  • Accountable for 2 major contracts in Southwestern Ontario for all servicing needs.
  • Providing leadership to fleet of up 30v AZ/DZ drivers in a facility operating 24/7/36
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with the customer's onsite operations staff and management focused providing topnotch customer service.
  • Handles and escalates customer concerns/questions/inquiries as required.
  • Manage and adjust driver work schedules as required to ensure optimum service.
  • Ensure driver paperwork, and/or ELOG usage is accurate and up to date.
  • Responsible for ensuring driver hours are submitted accurately and timely to payroll.
  • Conducting regular formal employee reviews and informal feedback discussions for all staff within their area of responsibility (i.e., 90day performance review completion and Annual eview) and enforce disciplinary and corrective action as required in conjunction with the Manager and HR.
  • Prepare and review daily, weekly, andmonthly reports and ensure drivers complete all their paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Oversee fleet servicing contract and work in conjunction with Fleet Safety Coordinator to ensure maintenance schedule(s) are adhered to; including but not limited to, regular day to day maintenance requirements.
  • Assist with the hiring of new drivers, conducting onboarding, orientation, and ongoing training.
  • Respond to emergency situations in a timely manner and be available to provide backup route coverage as required.
  • Ensure all requirements of the health and safety program are adhered to including but not limited to providing general and job specific health and safety training, managing day to day adherence to policies, participating in regular inspections, participating in investigations as required, completing documents as required.
  • Develop driver's potential through regular coaching and open communication
  • Assist Safety and Compliance with conducting accident and incident investigations as needed and produce documentation timely for record keeping.
  • Work harmoniously with other departments as required to facilitate sharing resources and backup support as needed.
  • Participate in other corporate functions as required by the needs of the business.

What we are looking for:


  • Valid and current AZ license and 2years AZ driving experience (clean CVOR and Drivers Abstract required).
  • Working knowledge of Ministry of Transportation policy and procedures.
  • 2 years of planning and scheduling experience, ideally in a supervisory role.
  • Experience leading and managing a diverse team.
  • Experience in a 24 x 7 operation, preferably in thetransportation and logistics industry.
  • Strong customer service skills coupled with solid communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to resolve issues/conflicts and provide a solution.
  • Strong communication skills both within and outside the organization.
  • Selfstarter, multitasker, organized, and works productively unsupervised.
  • Flexibility with schedule and work hours to support peak periods.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Teams, Excel, Word) and knowledge of Google Maps and a transportation software
  • Regular 6:00AM start but may be required to respond outside of regular working schedule hours as required.
  • Knowledge of warehouse software systems and MS Office proficiency with Excel, Word, Teams.

Other Requirements:


  • Able and willing to be flexible with their schedule as needed to cover off for colleagues and take on additional hours during high volume periods, including weekends and holidays.
