Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible to provide administrative and research support to the labour relations team including file preparation, record maintenance, meeting logistics and other labour and employee related duties


Qualifications:


The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

  • Knowledge of office administration policies, procedures, and processes
  • Knowledge of collective agreements and labour relations policies
  • Knowledge of applicable legislations
  • Knowledge of office productivity software and databases, internet browsers and search engines, disciplinespecific software, enterprise software, and technology devices

Education and Experience:


The above is normally acquired through the completion of:

  • College diploma or bachelor's degree, working towards a designation in Human Resources would be considered an asset
  • Minimum of four years of previous administrative experience, with at least two of those years in a human resources function within a unionized environment

Due to the ongoing dynamic nature of Covid-19, you may be required to work temporarily remotely due to public health requirements.

If this happens, you will work with your direct manager to set up a remote work environment including discussing appropriate technology and requirements.

You are required to follow all directives to set up a safe and confidential workspace in a remote location and ensure all Carleton property (intellectual and other) is safeguarded.

If required to work remotely, you will be notified by your manager when working full time physically onsite will resume.
