National Bank Independent Network (NBIN) is the pre-eminent choice of Introducing Brokers and Portfolio Managers looking for brokerage administration support.

NBIN provides trading and custodial services to Portfolio Managers (PM), and is a Carrying Broker to IIROC registered Introducing Brokers (IB) across Canada.

Creating strong partnerships with our clients is paramount to our success.

  • The role of Account Manager (AM) plays a vital part in ensuring we deliver the highest quality of customer service to our clients. The AM role is a member of our Mid-Office Service Team providing day to day service to a number of independent Portfolio Managers and Introducing Brokers. The MOST teams act as a liaison between the client and the various support areas within NBIN.
Main challenges

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through the coordination of efforts with various internal departments and divisions within NBIN and National Bank.
  • Ensure that a high level of customer service is maintained with our clients by keeping them informed of any new developments, products, and all available services as they relate to their business needs.
  • Ensure prompt and thorough resolution of all client issues and recommend improvements in policies and procedures with the ultimate goal of continually improving our service delivery.
  • On a daily basis review and approve administrative items such as; Deregistrations, Bank Transfers, Foreign Exchanges and Internal Account Transfers.
  • Act as a liaison with the various operational areas within NBIN to ensure tasks are completed in a proactive and timely manner.
  • Coordinate regular meetings with clients and document ongoing service and operational issues with respect to the client and NBIN, investigate, follow and resolve.
  • Provide clients with guidance on NBIN policies, procedures and training that directly impact their business.
  • Provide process improvement recommendations that will enhance the overall business relationship with clients.
  • Represent NBIN professionally at client meetings/business functions

Competencies required:

  • Threeyear College diploma or the academic equivalent in a related field, and four years of brokerage/service role, or University degree with a minimum of two years in a brokerage/service role
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC), Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH) a definite asset
  • Knowledge of the regulatory and legal aspects of the industry
  • Possess knowledge of the structure, procedures and systems utilized within NBCN and support areas, an asset
  • Selfstarter with the ability to work independently and also within a team environment
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who demonstrates can do attitude with the ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment
  • Familiarity with Word/Excel/Microsoft office.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong verbal and written skills in English, French considered an asset
